adnams

Heritage drinks brand Adnams, known for its origins on the East Anglian coast, choose us to across multiple shoots to make images for their campaigns.

The Challenge

Working with a heritage brand like Adnams is a privilege and we’re proud to have been recommended by Borne (the wonderful, but sadly not defunct brand agency).

First and foremost, being entrusted by a brand that’s over 135 years old that’s built on reputation means you have a duty to take the care and consideration to get things right and honour the brand. We wanted to show up, to put a solid production in place and create work everyone involved could be proud of.

As you’d expect, an expansive business built with a much loved brand at the core means sensitive brand guidelines and client and agency teams who know where the guardrails are. We needed to plan properly, allow room for organic creative moments and ensure our styling and approach was perfect.

Finally, we needed to bring our own creative approach and bake it into the process whilst ensuring there was consistency across multiple campaigns and shoot days.

How We Made it Work

Working alongside the Adnams brand and marketing team, and brand agency Borne, we delivered shots across multiple campaigns that became part of digital, OOH, retail and POS activities. We took on the challenges by:-

  • Giving the Adnams brand the care it deserves by putting it at the centre of everything we were doing. With careful Art Direction alongside agency we made sure products were honoured and a clear part of every scene. Not only that, we had the best creatives on set to ensure product was styled to guidelines and we made our best work

  • Having the best people on set that could ensure everything was styled properly and accordingly to brand guidelines (could move with the punches as things organically change on set)

  • Building an integrated production that folded each parties needs into what we were making. We baked in a creative approach that prioritised shot lists for planned assets but created time to allow that extra organic work to unfold

  • Approaching shoots consistently - as always we’d reflect and learn on what went right and what went wrong, then we’d make sure we had creative consistency across the shoots. This was always anchored in putting people at the heart and showing that connection between people and product

The Impact

“I can trust that they will take initiative as they understand the brief and make time to check in with the client as well as the agency at key moments during the shoot. They always deliver beautiful images, and go above and beyond to help us meet tricky deadlines.”
